One of the most common questions I get asked is:
"What's the healthiest thing you can eat for breakfast?"
It makes sense that we all want to start our days with energy that doesn't run out - and because breakfast is usually such a habitual meal - it's a great opportunity to get loads of great nutrition in really easily too.
Be imaginative and play around with the huge range of choices that are out there, past cereal and toast. A lot of the breakfasts I make for myself and my family are more like puddings, but without the processed sugar. So why not rethink your breakfast habit and have something really yummy and super nutritious in the morning?
I have developed a lot of different breakfast ideas over the years, but here are 5 of my favourites. You can choose for yourself which one's your favourite and do let me know once you’ve tried them. I’ve even included a link to my favourite so you can download the recipe and try it for yourself.
Here are my top 5 healthy breakfast options:
- Coconut & Berry Mousse, (the one in the picture & my favourite)
- Chia Pudding, (made with almond milk, goji berries, dried figs, vanilla & maple syrup)
- Green Super-Smoothie
- Fruity Pancakes, (made with almond milk, eggs, rice flour and tapioca flour and berries)
- Peanut Butter & Banana Flapjacks (made with oats, maple syrup, dates & vanilla)
So, there you have it. My top 5 super-healthy breakfast options including a recipe to my favourite right here:
