In my practice this question popped up from one of my clients. It’s a common theme in today’s modern times of fast paced living and immediate gratification. I thought it would be really helpful to share here...Read More
If you’re similar in age to me, then you’ll probably remember the years of the ‘super models’, like Naomi Campbell, Helena Christiansen, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford. They seemed to be the ultimate in effortless, graceful beauty. I was agog with awe at watching them strut their stuff in the George Michael video “Too Funky” back in 1990.
Around this time I remember Cindy Crawford famously saying in an interview “Even I don’t look like Cindy Crawford in the morning.”
I originally posted this story on my Facebook page and it got such a huge response I wanted to share it with you here...Read More
For someone who once lived so unconsciously to the point that my body ground to a halt in 2007 with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, you’d think I’d have learnt to balance my life a little better.Read More
So I was walking through the chemist doors towards the pharmacy counter, and just happened to be in an especially happy, light mood, when I noticed a woman walking in front of me. I gently sauntered in after her, as we were both heading to the same place. I noticed she exchanged a couple of words with someone serving at the pharmacy, and I then looked up and smiled at the other approaching pharmacist working behind the counter, who immediately moved forward to serve me, at which point the woman in front of me got very agitated, angry and emotional saying “I was next!”Read More
Have you ever had a sensed that you are not your body? You may well have, but not known what was going on. A couple of weeks ago I got up as usual in the morning, did my teeth, got dressed and then stood in front of the bathroom mirror ready to do my hair and make up.
Often when we look in the mirror we evaluate with a negative, critical perspective: How tired do I look? How many wrinkles do I have? Could my hair benefit from washing? Often it is such a habit we do daily that we don't even notice or question it.

Just like the fable about the boiling frog...
How do you cook a frog so it doesn't notice? You put it in a pan of cold water and turn the heat up slowly until boiling.
Easter is a time of year where families often come together. Now that’s great if you enjoy spending time with all your family members. But what if there is the odd person or two that you find not so great to spend time with, and whom you always seem to get into challenging situations with?Read More
I was driving and a stone flew up and cracked the windscreen. The crack was too bad for a quick fill repair and so the car needed a whole new windscreen.
Soon after it was replaced, we had a sunny day and my sunglasses got their first outing of the year. I was driving back from seeing a friend, sitting at a set of traffic lights, thinking about how much better my vision could be.
This is a question that sufferers of CFS or M.E. can get very distraught hearing, and that friends and families of sufferers can’t help but question.
Before you read any further I want to state that I had CFS 11 years ago and am not only fully recovered, but am leading a fulfilling, loving, contented life beyond anything I could possibly have dreamt of in the depths of my illness and suffering. It feels like a lifetime ago.
